judges walk out

Judges walk out of ‘Indian Idol’

When Amey's name was announced, Sonu Nigam suddenly stood up and spoke on behalf of the two other judges that they wouldn't want to be part of this decision that India has taken to oust Amey. "Viewer's don't know how to vote or I guess, I am expecting too much from the Indian audiences. How can they vote out Amey Date? He is a true singer..." cried Anu Malik painfully. Later, in his trademark style, he made an offer to Amey for playback singing with him

While all this high drama unfolded in support of Amey Date, the guy who caused all this grief, Anuj Sharma from Himachal Pradesh looked on. He looked grim and uneasy as the poor guy hasn't heard even a word in his favour ever since he joined the rest of the gang in the gala rounds, by default. He had won a bit of applause from the judges in this round for singing ‘Chal chhaiyan’ but was still considered the weakest contestant in the show. He has been facing extremely humiliating situations and comments from the judges all through but it seems that the voting public loves him and he gets chosen every time despite heaps of negative comments on the show

The judges were brought back by the hosts, Mini Mathur and Aman Verma on the stage where the rest of the action took place. When they suggested that this round should be replayed, finally someone spoke up for the poor guy who bore the brunt of all the negative emotions there, Anuj Sharma. His firebrand niece, who sat in the live audience stood up for him and argued with the judges.

Amey was believed by many including the participants to be the main contender for the title. But the ninth gala round of ‘Indian Idol’ had something else in store for this talented singer. The contestants had celebrated Holi with the special guest Diya Mirza one day before the results. They had sung two songs each in this round, out of which one was a Holi song. Though Karunya had stolen the show with everyone singing his praises but Amey too had heard positive comments from the judges
"The performances were mind blowing, I knew that the show is really high class but I got the taste of its true class today." expressed Diya Mirza. "Whether you can become the 'Indian Idol', is not the main factor. We have chosen a diamond like you is the prime fact. If you don't become the idol, it's not at all your loss; it's a great loss for the nation." commented Sonu on Karunya

The title is just two steps ahead and the competition has now become fierce with just 3 men left. Will it be Karunya from Hyderabad, Sandeep from Bikaner or Anuj from Himachal…keep watching this space…
